this little folk artsy fellow was inspired by the lines of a poem about
frost on the pumpkin . Well i have not seen frost for decades! however, each fall the salt is in the air where i live because winter /fall is when the waves get larger and stronger and toss salt into the air...
so as i made this little painted fabric folk art figure. i wrote a poem on the gown as it came to me as i made it. . in the original one i made a tiny snowman pin i called frosty, hence
frosty is on the pumpkin. Most years i make one for my collection.
Then there is the count down to the search for the most sincere pumpkin that Charlie Brown is forever looking for in that adorable cartoon i must watch each year.

Oh, this little jack o lantern i named punky. i made him back in 1976 with the help of a potter that threw the pumpkin shapes for some of us to carve and embellish and glaze.
as you can see he has a slight astigmatism, much like his carver....
So each October i take punky out of the china cabinet and dig around for new votive candles. luckily my local Longs drug store (CVS) has those stubby little candles we keep on hand in case the power goes off, again.
our very first computer had an etch a sketch
feature on it that i was able to make this little card on.
Vince Guaraldi Trio - "Cast your fate to the
wind."
And until today i never knew it had words.
everyday i learn something new !!
Be well
A month of nights, a year of days
Octobers drifting into Mays
I set my sail when the tide comes in
I just cast my fate to the wind
I shift my course along the breeze
Won't sail upwind on memories
The empty sky is my best friend
I just cast my fate to the wind
A month of nights, a year of days
Octobers drifting into Mays
I set my sail when the tide comes in
I just cast my fate to the wind
